這句諺語直譯是「每個陶藝匠都誇讚自己的壺罐好」，意思就是「自己做的、生的、擁有的東西在自己眼中都是最好的」，這句話通常帶有一絲諷刺、負面的味道。

每次到了選舉，許多政治人物為求當選，紛紛在造勢場合自吹自誇，大談自己服務選民的績效，有些人甚至假造學經歷，胡扯瞎扯，只求多一點選票，可是當選後是否真的可以兌現之前所開出來的支票，或是真的苦民所苦，為政以德，那就很難說了！

選民們在被疲勞轟炸、眼花撩亂之際，別忘了Every potter praises his own pot，千萬別被候選人的選舉技倆所騙！
